Trading for Beginners

Here we go then: First step was to try and locate some good deals... So where do I go? 2 places you should ALWAYS check for good trade deals are:

1) IRC Channel #Traders
2) Forum Thread "Trading Post"

For me, I just needed to get started with some medical item trading as these items are always in high demand, and you can usually buy direct from traders at a good price if you are a decent barterer and know where to look! Before I started, it had to make sure that I knew where to draw the line... This is the point at which I HAVE to walk away from a deal... This is how to easily work this out:

1) Go to the item market and check out the medical prices, at the time I found that:

Morphine was at $17,000 - $17,100 on the first page
First Aid Kits were at $13,000 - $14,000 on the first page and
Small First Aid Kits were $6,000 - $6,400 on the first page.

OK so I know how much they are listed at, but how much should I pay? Well its easy to set a limit, you LOSE 3% of whatever you list on the market so you should work that out before you start:

$17,000 / 1.03 = $16,500 for morphine, $13,000 / 1.03 = $12,380 for FAKS and $6,000 / 1.03 = $5,825 for SFAKS.

So if you pay anything more than that, you are going to make a loss at best! For me, an easy way to work out my walk away price is to round down to the nearest $500... So max I paid for morphine was $16k, $12k for FAKS and $5.5k for small FAKS.

OK so off to find the deals on the forums? Wrong! While checking the prices I noticed some variance on the lowest price, and in that I have found my first deals of the day. Bargain listings! Not only will I snap up the bargains on the market, but I will contact the sellers to see if they will trade any remaining stock directly for a quick sale and a better price (after all you are saving them hassle and the 3% listing fee!)

Alright so I have some stock... If you are wondering why I didn't spend every penny, its so I have cash for listing fees... No morphine yet as I didnt see any good deals and frankly I'm going to make a lot of money out of the smaller items right now! I immediately list them on the item market at $1 less than the cheapest listings. Low and behold they all sell within 2 or 3 minutes!

Right so that is my first batch done... All in the first few minutes of trading, and I have some leads on where to get cheap meds (possibly) so how much do I have to play with now?

$59,215 !!! So after literally a couple of minutes I have turned my $50,000 into almost $60,000... a 20% profit in a couple of minutes!

So now I'm looking to earn some more cash, I can't see any more cheap deals on the item market so I need to move on and find another source for my stock. NOW I need to go to the forums and try and snag a good rate while I wait for the sellers that I bought from on the item market to return some of my mails (I mailed them earlier asking if they had more to sell and if they would trade directly with me...)

SMALL FIRST AID KITS $4-5.5k

So there is my post... Now I kinda just have to wait for a bit to see if anyone is interested in selling... But while I do - I'm going to do something most traders don't bother to do. READ the existing posts lol... So all I'm looking for is anyone selling meds... if they are in my price bracket - great, if not I will need to haggle a bit harder...

So this is perfect. I'm basically set up now to make my first big deal... I message him asking for the 13k price, promising to buy them all, but in smaller chunks...

He responds saying its a bit of hassle but ok... and away we go.

To cut a long story short this is what I did for the next hour...

Buy 4 morphines for $52k, sold them on the item market for $66k
Buy 5 morphines for $65k, sold them on the item market for $82.5k
Buy 6 morphines for $78k, sold them on the item market for $99k
Buy 8 morphines for $91k, sold them on the item market for $115.5k
Buy 10 morphines for $130k, sold them on the item market for $165k
Buy 13 morphines for $156k, sold them on the item market for $198k
Buy 15 morphines for $195k, sold them on the item market for $247.5k
Buy 19 morphines for $247k, sold them on the item market for $313.5k
Buy 24 morphines for $312k, sold them on the item market for $396k
Buy 30 morphines for $390k, sold them on the item market for $495k
Buy 38 morphines for $494k, sold them on the item market for $627k
Buy 48 morphines for $624k, sold them on the item market for $792k
Buy 21 morphines for $273k, sold them on the item market for $346.5k

Right so I'm an hour into my trading and I have got $900k in cash... Pretty much all made from one or two pretty easy finds without much effort or complicated deals...

So basically in an hour I have made a profit of 1800% which is the same as putting your money into the TC bank for about 15 years... No tricks, nothing clever, nothing that ALL OF YOU couldn't do yourselves... It really is this easy!
